ICON acted for Spiritsoft securing £8m second round funding. Spiritsoft are world leaders in Java Messaging Service (JMS) solutions. The company develops Java Messaging Software for middle-ware Internet and WAP tools for BtoB financial institutions.

Major customers include Reuters subsidiary Instinet, Dresdner Bank and GEIS.

The funding will be used to extend SpiritSoft's lead in the Java Messaging market-place on a global scale. The research and development programme will continue to grow, as will the sales and marketing team. The strengthened management team in London and Wall Street will develop SpiritSoft's consultancy and training offerings across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
